Llega al Estadio de la Cerámica el Elche, décimo clasificado de la competición, aunque con dos partidos menos que el Villarreal. El Villarreal resuelve en Turquía y certifica la clasificación a dieciseisavos de final de Europa League como primero de grupo
El Villarreal superó al Sivasspor por la mínima (0-1), aseguró la primera plaza del Grupo I y selló el pase a dieciseisavos de final de la UEFA Europa League. El conjunto amarillo hizo valer un solitario tanto de Chukwueze, que llegó precedido de una gran triangulación amarilla, para sumar su cuarto triunfo en cinco partidos en competición europea.
El ataque del Villarreal apenas superaba la veintena de edad. Chukwueze, Fer Niño, Baena y Take son los futbolistas por los que apostó el técnico de Hondarribia para sorprender a la zaga del conjunto turco. Más experiencia atrás, con hombres como Iborra, Coquelin, Jaume Costa o Funes Mori.
Con un solitario tanto del nigeriano, el Villarreal logró su cuarta victoria europea en cinco encuentros y cumplió el objetivo de lograr la clasificación a dieciseisavos, como primero de grupo, un encuentro antes de concluir la fase de grupos.

El técnico del Villarreal se mostró muy satisfecho por la clasificación a dieciseisavos y orgulloso por el trabajo del equipo
El entrenador del Villarreal CF, Unai Emery compareció en sala de prensa para analiza la valiosa victoria que cosechó su equipo ante Sivasspor (0-1) y valió para certificar la clasificación a la siguiente ronda de la Europa League: “El objetivo se ha cumplido en dos direcciones. La primera, la clasificación. Ser primeros cuando jugábamos contra un rival que necesitaba ganar para tener opciones de pasar a la siguiente fase y que nos ha exigido los 90 minutos. Y la segunda, seguir combinando jugadores con experiencia con jugadores jóvenes, que además lo hacen con ese crecimiento al rendimiento y a la exigencia que queremos«.
El entrenador amarillo también valoró el momento goleador del equipo, que se ha convertido en el club con más goles en la historia de la fase de grupos de la Europa League: “Estoy orgulloso de poder ayudar y contribuir a que el Villarreal siga su camino. Creo que en España es un club reconocido y respetado y en Europa también. Es un motivo orgullo para todos y tenemos que seguir en esta estructura sólida de club y de trabajo«.

Peña comenzó su andadura futbolística como extremo derecho. Con el tiempo se ha reconvertido en un lateral derecho de perfil ofensivo, con buen trato de balón y una buena visión del juego en equipo. Es un jugador que se sacrifica por el conjunto y que siempre tiene una correcta colocación sobre el terreno de juego.
Equipos anteriores: Real Ávila, Valladolid Prom., CD Guijuelo, CD Leganés y SD Eibar.
