El Villarreal iguala ante los vascos en un partido en que no se llegaron a señalar hasta tres posibles penaltis a favor de los amarillos
El Villarreal igualó ante el Athletic Club en el Estadio de la Cerámica (1-1) en un partido que estuvo marcado, inevitablemente, por las decisiones arbitrales. Hasta tres penaltis pudo señalar a favor de los amarillos y ninguno llegó a lanzarse. Uno sí que fue pitado por Medié Jiménez , pero cambió de opinión a instancias del VAR. El Athletic se adelantó por medio de Williams, empatando Yeremy ya en la segunda mitad.
El partido
Unai Emery volvió a apostar por Juan Foyth en la zona media del campo ante la grave lesión de Iborra. El argentino formó en la medular junto a Trigueros y Parejo. En la zona más adelantada, el canterano Fer Niño repitió en punta de lanza con Gerard y Moi Gómez en los costados.
La primera parte estuvo repleta de infortunios. Primero, Fer Niño fue derribado en el área por Unai Simón y el colegiado pitó penalti. Tras revisar la jugada el VAR, Medié Jiménez rectificó y anuló su decisión. Esto afectó a los amarillos, que encajaron el 0-1 en el 19’. Iñaki Williams, rozando el fuera de juego, anotó con un disparo raso ante Asenjo. Cuatro minutos más tarde, Mario Gaspar tuvo que abandonar el campo lesionado. En su lugar entró Rubén Peña .
El Submarino lo intentaba de todas las maneras posibles, con pases por dentro, con centros laterales. La tuvo Gerard Moreno con un remate forzado a centro desde la izquierda de Pedraza, pero el remate se fue desviado.
Rozando el tiempo de descanso, una nueva jugada polémica. Esta vez por mano de Vencedor dentro del área que el árbitro no interpretó como merecedora de pena máxima ante la desesperación de los amarillos.
El Villarreal salió a por todas en la segunda parte. Así, Fer Niño, Pedraza y Gerard tuvieron claras ocasiones de gol para igualar el marcador. La falta de puntería y las milagrosas intervenciones de Unai Simón lo evitaron. Unai Emery decidió mover el banquillo, dando entrada a Yeremy por Foyth. Un cambio ofensivo que dio sus frutos sobre el terreno de juego.
El atacante canario estrelló un balón en el palo en el minuto 73, y solo unos segundos más tarde marcó el 1-1 con un potente zurdazo a pase de cabeza de Trigueros.
Desde ese momento y hasta el final se luchó cada balón en contienda, aunque el marcador ya no se movería. Ni siquiera un codazo sobre Yeremy dentro del área fue señalado como penalti.
El próximo partido del Villarreal CF será contra el Sevilla en el Ramón Sánchez -Pizjuán (martes, 29 de diciembre, 17.00 horas).
