La capital de la Plana Baixa viu hui dilluns 3 de febrer el dia gran en honor al seu patró amb la tradicional Font del Vi i les activitats i esdeveniments especials que s’han programat durant la jornada
Al mateix temps que els borrianencs i les borrianenques reten homenatge al seu patró, Sant Blai, cada 3 de febrer, el refranyer popular afirma ‘Per Sant Blai, una hora per dalt i una hora per baix’, anunciant que ja es nota que la llum natural de cada dia comença a allargar-se, i una altra dita més coneguda prega ‘Sant Blai sant ditxós cura’ns la tos’, en al·lusió a les qualitats curatives per part del gloriós i venerat sant en relació a les malalties de la gola.
Tots els preparatius previs per al dia gran en honor al patró de Borriana, Sant Blai, ja estan amanits, la fira ja és oberta i està preparada tota la programació, sobretot d’actes culturals, entre els quals es programen exposicions, concerts, a més d’atraccions per als xiquets que conformen l’extens programa de Sant Blai.
Al caràcter cultural i tradicional de la festivitat s’uneix el fervor religiós, on cal destacar, la celebració, durant la vesprada de avui diumenge, d’un dels actes previs més significatius i anunciadors de l’arribada del dia del patró, el trasllat de la imatge del sant en processó des de l’ermita de Sant Blai fins a la Basílica del Salvador. Una desfilada religiosa en el qual participen centenars de fidels.
Hui dilluns, el caràcter antropològic de la festa se situa en la tradicional Font del Vi, font centenària de la qual raja al llarg del matí del 3 de febrer vi en abundància, amb el qual s’obsequia a totes aquelles persones que s’acosten fins als voltants de l’ermita a què dóna nom el sant.
