Un Valencia – Villarreal, o viceversa, es un partido único. No es solo un derbi autonómico, es algo más lo que está en contienda en este tipo de partidos. Este curso futbolístico tan atípico nos presente un encuentro, en esta ocasión, con dos equipos en momentos en los que las dudas se ciernen sobre ellos más de la cuenta, más de lo que debería ser para dos entidades que, cada una en un contexto, han logrado cosas importantes dentro del mundo del fútbol.
El Valencia se sitúa en la posición número 14 de la clasificación y el Villarreal es séptimo. En total 10 puntos les separan. También existe una diferencia importante dentro del seno interno de ambos clubes. El Valencia vive momentos convulsos como entidad. En el Villarreal las cosas están más serenas, aunque en lo deportivo se hace imprescindible ya lograr una victoria. Esta jornada puede ser la que marque ese punto de inflexión en positivo para los amarillos.
En lo que al resto de la jornada se refiere hay un partido que destaca sobre los demás. Es el otro derbi de la jornada, el que enfrentará al Atlético de Madrid y al Real Madrid. El partido estrella de la jornada dominical resulta de vital importancia para lucha por el título. El Atlético es líder con cinco puntos de ventaja sobre el Real Madrid, aunque con un partido menos para los colchoneros. Del resultado final del encuentro dependerán, y mucho, las opciones de cara a la obtención del torneo.
