La ciutat de Vila -real ha celebrat els actes institucionals amb motiu del 746é aniversari de la Carta Pobla atorgada per Jaume I en 1274. L’alcalde, José Benlloch, i la reina de 2019, Carmen Rubert, juntament amb les seues dames, i corporació municipal han presidit el tradicional homenatge a Jaume I, amb l’ofrena de les entitats socials i culturals de la ciutat. La directora de l’Escola Superior de Tecnologia i Ciències Experimentals de l’UJI, Amelia Simó, ha estat l’encarregada de llegir la Carta Pobla, en un acte presentat pel periodista Rafa Mezquita. La Filla Predilecta de Vila -real Dolores Cortés també ha encapçalat la comitiva, que s’ha desplaçat des de la plaça Major -on s’ha fet l’ofrena a la imatge del rei Jaume I- fins al jardí de Jaume I, fent parada en un altre dels símbols de l’origen medieval de Vila -real, la Torre Motxa.
