El Villarreal cayó en su último partido de preparación ante el Levante (1-2) en un partido muy igualado y que terminó decantándose por el mayor acierto del conjunto granota. Tras el quinto amistoso de la pretemporada, el Submarino se estrenará la próxima semana en LaLiga ante la SD Huesca (domingo 13, 18.30h, Estadio de la Cerámica).
Fue una primera parte abierta y muy igualada. Los dos equipos, abiertos y ordenados, comenzaron a hacer circular la pelota intentando hacerse con el control. Al borde de la media hora, Chukwueze se sacó un espectacular centro de la manga que Paco Alcácer, tras controlar con el pecho, aprovechó para hacer el primero de la tarde. Cinco minutos después, Sergio León , con un gran testarazo, ponía el 1-1 en el marcador.
El segundo tiempo fue más trabado. Los azulgranas salieron con mucha intensidad y, fruto de ella, en el 62, se ponían por delante con un buen gol de Morales. Tras el 1-2, el Submarino trató de salvar la desventaja y se acercó con peligro al área, pero la zaga visitante, bien colocada, abortó cada intento de los amarillos.
